This proposal allocates protoREP for Season 4 contributions.
Hats protoDAO is bootstrapping a decentralized reputation system to measure and attribute the value created by contributors for the Hats ecosystem. Contributions are awarded with Hats protoDAO reputation points or “protoREP”, valueless and nontransferrable ERC20 non-voting stake tokens in the Hats protoDAO Moloch v3 contract.
protoREP is awarded based on a decentralized, intersubjective allocation process by Hats protoDAO Stewards, detailed here. Haberdasher Labs then proposes the total amount of protoREP to allocate for each Season, based on an assessment of the total value created each season.
Following are the protoREP totals awarded to Stewards across each of the previous Seasons:
Seasons 0 + 1: 3000 protoREP awarded to Stewards
Season 2: 3800 protoREP
Season 3: 3100 protoREP
Season 4 (proposed): 3450 protoREP, including 2000 protoREP distributed as part of this proposal for “above and beyond Steward contributions”, and 1450 protoREP maintained (not burned) for fulfilling baseline Steward responsibilities
In addition, 350 protoREP is proposed to be awarded to two Community Contributions: 250 to Unlock Protocol for the new Hats+Unlock Protocol integration including front-end development and promotion, and 100 to Decent DAO for the continued developments of the Hats+Decent integration, specifically role-based compensation with Hats+Sablier (note: Decent DAO received 217 protoREP for the initial phase of this integration in Season 3).
This proposal also burns 50 protoREP from 9 Stewards (450 protoREP total) who did not fulfill their baseline Steward responsibilities in Season 4, to recoup the 50 protoREP distributed to Stewards at the beginning of each season conditional upon them fulfilling the responsibilities of the Steward hat.
Therefore the total protoREP being distributed as part of this proposal = 2000 + 350 = 2350
The total protoREP being burned as part of this proposal = 450
